warmoth closeout deals... any good?

Post by benwalker »

factory seconds or just plain uuuuugly bodies that no-one wanted?

i keep holding out for tobacco sunburst or blue staining to replace the body on my half mexican strat, but only ever see black, green-burst or tequila sunburst (which is a kind of orange to yellow bursting that requires sunglasses...)

I did a search on it and realized it's the closeouts they always have. There have been plenty of times when I didn't come up with much, but they often have shorty necks and off models. Look at the double trouble Jag-stang body for $145!

Some guy on RR modified a sharkfin body to look more surfy. The guitar itself was only $109, so cost-wise, he did pretty well, But it's hard to beat $150 for a JS.

THIS ONE aint's cheap, but at leasxt it exists. Look under Musiclander.

There's also a rear routed JAZZY body. When they say rear routed, I think they mean sodomy and the lash.

When I built my Swinger I looked at the Warmoth bodies and that upper horn just doesn't look right. It's a goofy looking body style to begin with and I don't know where they got the tracing from, but it's way off.

Totally.
Why would anyone spend any time modding that body. If you have the skills to do all the work, why not just cut a new one?

You're right. I didn't notice that. It is way off. :?

for some reason the email saying something about the thread being replied to must have got lost...

linky time...

Do want

or

but they're in the showcase. Closeout deals - link - generally are unfinished or the vomit inducing 'Dragon Burst'

will keep watching though.... one day, oh yes, one day....
