Does anyone remember that thread about swapping out MIM duosonic necks? they are the wierd 23" scale I think? Am I just manufacturing memories, or did I read that you can drop a 25.5" neck in there, and it intonates... Aug was involved. I remember that...

they're 22.7" scale, i think. i highly doubt you'd be able to drop a 25.5" neck in there. could be wrong, though.
i'll bet you can easily get away with an old 22.5" neck.

25.5 doesn't work, but I've read that 24" does.

24 necks work. Mostly cause the throw on those MM bridges.

Are you looking for a 25.5 Duo?

I'm getting a supershortscale mexican duo, and was just thnking of future possibilities. I could always move the bridge back in the event I had an extra neck.

I have that squier duosonic which I think is the same as the MIM one. it is the same super short scale. I was thinking about doing this as well. I measured everything for a 25.5 neck. it would be fine. the saddles would have to be adjusted 2-3mm back, it's really not a big deal.

yea, all you have to is measure from the nut to the 12th fret, it should be the same as from the 12th fret to to the bridge. I didn't have a 24" neck to measure but it might work. DDDave is right, the MM saddles have a lot of play.

I'm not a huge fan of the 25.5" scale though, it's just a hair too big IMO. I was thinking of maybe getting one of those warmoth 24.75" necks (since they are designed to go on guitars that normally have 25.5, I know they would fit). might be a little silly to have a neck that nice on a cheap guitar like this though.

the other thing I was thinking about, what do you guys think of changing the neck out on a guitar like this at all? they're out of production guitars, so they're kind of collectors items.

Mage is correct. I had mentioned that I am doing that on my MIM Duo, I just haven't got to finishing it yet. I already used the MIM neck on my son's guitar.

This thread is almost a year old ... why you posting these? You want to get in the classifieds section.
