SX JM bass

Post by tribi9 »

Looks ok! I had one of their strats and the neck was horrible!

But If I had some extra cash, I'd buy it and do a neck swap.

Wow, how come SX can afford to get all that shit in a $140 guitar and not even Squier can?

I can't play a full scale bass! My hands cant handle a 34" neck. This would be perfect for me! I mean you can't go wrong with the price.

The body on the SX Strat I had was actually pretty nice. It had a nice finish and it was pretty solid. So tempted at getting one....

I totally hate it when Shortscales are simply referred to as "3/4" length guitars. 3/4 of 25.5" is 19.125", not 24" and 3/4 of 34" is 25.5" interestingly enough. Quite interesting to consider standard guitars as "3/4 scale six string bass guitars".

Neck swap might be expensive, 30" scale bass necks are hard to come by, I don't think Warmoth makes them either.

I really want a short scale bass, too. I'm planning on buying a Mustang bass in a couple of months.

My candy apple red SX Strat and vintage green Jazz Bass have flawless bodies. The bass plays and sounds great and the strat sounds just like a strat should. The paint jobs on these are better than my Squiers. Those SX guitars are serious quality!

My only gripe about the strat is... the frets are wayyy too big!

the necks are not anything to write home about, i have an sx jazzbass "vintage series", it sounds great, but the
bridge and neck suck to adjust.

that's actually a pretty cool idea. shame you wouldn't be able to fit a jazzmaster tailpiece on there. it'd either have to be hardtail or strat trem'd.
