Looks like Sam Ash is importing these, probably from Japan. They cost $999, which is way too much but whatever.

These are selling in Japan for 80,000 yen street price, which is like $750-$800, you throw in shipping and taxes and you pay about the same.
I rather have a good Brian May Red Special copy than a tele, more interesting guitar. Better pickup combos, and I just like it. How was the Burns one, i only played one briefly and wasn't overwhelmed with it.Progrockabuse wrote:many years ago, i was buying a burns brian may (yes, laugh it up lol) and i tried the tele as well

it was a really nice guitar, 24 frets, you could get so many different sounds with it. i managed to get tele esq sounds, ricky esq sounds. was good at humbucker sounds. the downside was the trem unit, which never stayed in tune and the locking tuners where a pain in the arse, they were faulty. in the end i sold it to pay for my stratocaster, but it was on the agreement that if he ever sold it, i got first dibs.
there releasing a new model that is a exact replica of brian's, though thats going to be around £2000, which is still cheaper than the more exspensive fryer or guyton models.
i do have the full layout and drawings for brian's guitar, include all neck profiles and dimensions.

you guys dont get it at all.
the reason they are doing this is to make a quick buck off of this new guy in country music called brad paisley. the dude is HUGE right now.
back when paisley teles were 400 bucks there was no brad paisley. now there is, so the price doubles.
im fairly sure you guys have seen this happen with like every single guitar ever built right?
