new birthday guitar!!!

Post by Progrockabuse »

well, i spent the weekend in london, celebrating 23 years of making my parents lives a joyful and exspensive event lol.
as you can guess i went to denmark street, not looking for anything in particular and fell in love with this.

Image

it's a epiphone les paul custom, a made in japan one, not the korean ones and is loaded with seymour duncan paf style pickups. oh my god how i love this!!! the action is the lowest and nicest i've ever played on a les paul style. this will join the 60's strat and danelectro as my main guitar, might even sell the danelectro.
the orange crush was a present from my band mates, it's 3 watts and sounds really good.

cheesy rock posers!!! lol

the family in it's new rack!

the whole rig together!!, fender blues deluxe, pedalboard= blues driver>danelectro delay>tuner .
cant wait to use this with the saltbooster from mike!!!

A black LP Custom is the type of hguitar I can never really tell if I like. I suppose aesthetically, one of the main problems I have with it is that the knobs are the same they put on this sort of guitar (the one in the picture has cheap strat kobs, but there is a hardtail version with black speed knobs)...

Image

You could put bronco knobs on a guitar like that cheap one, but they would still look classy. The stock LP ones look like they belong on the cheapo.

I'd replace them with something like these...

Image

It des look like the sort of guitar that will last you a good few years though, and it's hard to knock the playability of a good les paul.

Glad you're happy with it, and that you got a good deal on your burfday weekend! Looking forward to your booster smacking the shit out the front end of your amp.

i really like the look of the old customs with the yellowed binding and the worn hardware.
i'm absolutely in love with a '70s '54 reissue that guitar center hollywood has.

mike wins the christmas tukey, tis a lpb-1, taken it off the board ready for the saltbooster fuckfest that little tweeds gonna get tomorrow!!!!

the custom is just starting age nicley for a relatively newish guitar. this is second hand, put you'd never tell. paid 250 bones.

i might change the knobs for some nicer ones, i really want to get the little needles that go round the pots to point out what number at on the pot, if you get me.

i had an LP just like that and it was a blast. Troo story. Nice little collection. Of course, I even get tempted by crap like this. Can you imagine how bad the wood must look to be under a big wood sticker? $125 MIJ. Do not really want tho.

Cool. My hombre has one (not duncans, though) and it made me decide I'd like a red one better...

That seems very cheap. I don't know the value that well, but I thought being epi japan and denmark st that it would be more like 490. 250 seems a good deal. Well, 250 for a good Jap LP is an awesome deal.

well it was cheaper as it was second hand and cheaper becuase my girlfriend brought a grands worth of tenor saxophone from the same store, so we got a deal on the guitar as well, and mentioned it was my birthday to the salesman. :D
