Strat/Tele
So, I have a MIM Strato that I rarely play anymore, but I love love love the neck on it...
I am very close to purchasing a Loaded telecaster body and slapping the neck on there.
my only question is if it will intonate correctly, and if the gap will be unbearable.
heres what i am considering.
oh and how much better are MIJ tele's than MIM?
Jap-o tele
but then for not that much more i can get a brand new MIA tele
thanks hoes and bros

eric clapton used to play a tele with a strat neck, it looked and sounded amazing.

i wouldn't have thought that swapping a strat neck on a tele body would affect the tone that much unless you have ears like eric johnson (in which case, the shape of the headstock is likely to make a difference...) - more the feel of the neck that changes?

yes, but he's well known for talking a lot of bollocks about being able to hear the difference between Lithium and Alkaline batteries. and the material of screws on a Strat trem.Nick wrote:Is that sarcasm? eric johnson is.... full of shit, and himself, err wait, those two are the same thing.......
EJ's strat is nice tho, i dig it,
the thing about being able to hear the difference inbattery types, screw types, paint types and all that is just rubbish.
the battery thing is tru tho.
a dead battery will sound different than a new battery.

EJ has the best ruse going right now - almost all of the crap he does is just for convenience or ergonomics (pedals on risers, rubber band on the FF). Convincing everyone it's for tone has just become a running gag. Half the stuff he supposedly does is just made up by stores to sell vintage bridge blocks and crap.

EJ can play: his string skipping is second only to paul gilbert imho, but brass tips on jacks, marshalls only from certain years (or was that yngwie?), and now a signature pick that helps you have 'greater control and faster speed'
quite.
