anyone have any experience?

this is on craigslist for a VERY good price.

i have to sell my ac30 to fund an emergency move, and i need an amp for shows coming up. this is all tube, el84 based and it has reverb and tremolo. ive heard ampeg reverb is really good, not sure about the trem.

i can sell the ac30 and the price on the ampeg is so good, that i will save money and have plenty for the move and still have an amp.

its 15 watts, but ive heard it is LOUD and stays clean pretty much all the way up the dail.

i dunno how loud a 15 watt amp could be, but whatever.

beggars cant really be choosers so i think im gonna jump on this, just thought id see if i could get some feedback.

i've had gobs of ampegs. i had a jet with reverb and trem. the reverb on these are okay. not as great as ampeg v series amps. but the trem is awesome.

it is a loud 15 watts. i can get break up with single coils, but it's not unpleasant.

i just personally favor 6l6 based amps.

those usually go for under or around 300 so i say go for it.

If its really made by ampeg, then its gonna be a rock solid, reliable amp. Tone is another issue. If you like its sound, then you'll be really happy with it. Their bass shit is top notch, and my VT-22 is a tank.

the only issues you run into with ampegs is finding tubes. this one will be fine though. they're all current production/easy to find.

rock on.

i did play a vintage jet like, maybe a year ago at a music store. it was smaller and less powerful, but that thing had so much soul holy smokes. when i was playing it, the guy who worked there tol me i had to stop because they sold it over the phone. i said i would pay more than the person who bought it and they said it was too late.

Not true anymore. JJ/tesla make loads of them for vintage ampegs now.

this is true when it comes to the 70's amps, but the 60s original blue diamond tolex ones... there are still some hard to find tubes.

i have a vt22, a v4, and tubes for those are readily available. EXCEPTING the 6k11.

but the 60s amps used some funky arse tubes.

and mewithoutus, i'm sorry you didn't nab it :(
