Whammy Questions

So my Whammy pedal arrived. No instructions, but I got them off the Digitech website. I am struggling to find an adaptor that can handle the 9v/1.2A max requirements. My question is what happens if I put a 12v/2A max adaptor into it? I know I'm being a pussy, but I just tried 6v/1.2A and it made gameboy noises on its own, I don't want to fry shit. ;)

I wouldn't try a 12V power supply with a whammy, it's waaaay too expensive to be playing games with.

You can get cheapo multi volt/ampere adaptors with mutliple connectors cheap in Lidl sometimes.

It's 9vac 1.3ma correct? is this a 4th gen whammy?

if so, either the Line 6 PX-2 (2000ma 9vAC) or the Digitech PS0913B power supply (1300ma 9VAC) will work fine for it.

Aye, that's right. I have a cheapo multivolt thing Donk, the problem is the Whammy is greedy and wants about 1.3A of current, and my adapter just can't put out. I tried to use it but I can't get noises out. I am now going to stop plugging it into the mains until I can get into town tomorrow and try to find an adapter with enough output. That failing I imagine I will have to just bite the bullet and buy the genuine article, the seller decided to not include the adapter it came with as he said it was in use, but for £80 I can't complain.

Pretty stupid question I suppose in the first place, I was just so desperate to use this thing and my keyboard adapter was the only one I had left to try.

I was selling my WH4 for £80 with adapter last month, damn you. I thought it was a 12V supply it needed though?

Nay, it says word for word on the side: "9VAC ~50/60hz 1.3A". Bad Euan!

And seriously? I don't know how I missed that, maybe it's because I had GAS blinkers on until recently. I must check the Classifieds then kick myself.

you have to buy a power supply, and Digitech are the only people in the world who make them. The good news is that they only cost about forty quid.

If you have bought a Whammy without a power supply, go and ask for your money back tomorrow morning, seriously. I got mine for ninety from Donko, with a power supply.

Oh, and be sure to tell me how this ends up. I still haven't bought a power supply for mine, having lost the fiucking thing nigh on a year and a half ago.
