Cast me adrift never to return...

Post by Fran »

the world is better rid of me!!
Sorry guys, i played one of these today and i am ashamed to say it was fucking awesome.
Its a Cort 'Hiram Bullock' signature Stratocaster. Swamp Ash body, birds eye mapel neck, aged hardware, Wilkinson Trem, Mighty Mites, Sperzels... sounds and plays great. The guy in the shop is sponsored by Cort and gets their guitars cheap, i'm being lured in.

I used to have a Cort - can't quit remember the model - but was like a PRS copy...they are good guitars. My bass is a Cort too and I like that a lot.

Personally I don't like that guitar but It's ok to like guitars that other people may think are uncool. its about what you like, not what the masses like.

Lol. The guy in the shop said i always get drawn to the rustic or old looking guitars.
Srsly though, i know the name is gay but it played like a £500+ guitar and the spec is very high for the price. Its a players guitar, not one for the DS-1 brigade.

I meant that scorched timber has something of the "saloon doors" about it.

You'll be tucking your jeans into your cowboy boots in no time.

Does look like it could be OK, mind, although I'm not keen on the look of humbuckers in a stra, especially covered humbuckerst. Or humbuckers in general.

haha I see it completely. I played an old Cort neck thru strat copy in a faded pearl. It had a 3x3 tuner/headstock. very playable with jumbo fret and all in all nice.

Not too sure about the shape, but apart from that, the only thiing that's not agreeable is the name on the headstock, and that hardly matters, so get in there.

Although, you ought to be horrendously fat before buying this guitar.

Poor Hiram. The guy can barely walk now.

It was sad to see him go from Chicago Bluesy wailer to losing his everything over supporting a drug habit, and his number one modified 60s H-S-H sunburst Strat the Cort setup was designed after even ended up in the hands of an aging Korean rocker(!). When Hiram was here May last year Moollon's Mr. Ji built a guitar for him that was just like his old Strat, and be fore we handed it to him we took him out to Korean BBQ to talk and spent 2 hours chatting about the music industry and stuff. Jovial, hums R&B riffs to himself when there's dead air, had some really funny Jaco stories I never though I'd hear, and he said he spends some of his time tracking vocals for jingles and playing about in smaller gigs.

Never been hot for the Cort Strat shape, but I'm sure it has got the tonez hidden in thee somewhere. Enjoy, Fran!
