And it's delightfully resonant PINE under the skin! I guess it takes 57 years for some things to loop on back.

I can picture refins, Nek-squires, and all the joys $300 can buy in the foreseeable future of Tele lovers everywhere.

They should have not bothered with the neck pup and made it an e(squier). But none of these are really exciting to me, another Sunburst Strat yawn and some bass guitars, double yawnsville.

They should re-do the Jagmaster or do a Squier mustang body shape again. Maybe trickle down that new screw in trem from the MIM Jazzmasters to the Jagmaster.

I do like the strat - squier is stepping their game up like crazy, especially with the deluxes and vintage modifieds. I don't know why they stopped making the cyclone, but they should bring that back. I think a Squier jaguar or jazzmaster might cause the apocalypse.

It's not "another sunburst strat" it's a 50's re-issue from Squier, which I find pretty cool. They haven't ever REALLY done that, I guess in the Japan days perhaps.

I want both of the basses and the tele. Squier stepping up their game is straight-up POISON.

Anyone else notice the proper tuners?

So it's another 50s reissue strat? and another sunburst strat?

None of those guitars are 'new' in the slightest.

Fender R&D = easiest job going.

dudes need to chill the ef out, that 50s reissue strat is fucking nice. it's like a squier jv reissue. sunburst is kinda yawn though. they need to do it in that squire jv ocean turquoise color.

where can you get the specs on these?

"Classic Vibe Stratocaster® ‘50s: Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct – but rather imparting the ‘vibe’ of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations – all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value - Classic Vibe!

The Classic Vibe Stratocaster‘50s leaves no doubt as to its true Fender® identity. This 2-Color Sunburst over Alder, 21 fret vintage tint gloss maple neck beauty definitely has that ‘50s vibe but with the modern playability of a 9.5 radius and medium jumbo frets. The tone is unmistakable as well with a custom set of AlNiCo III single-coil pickups – clear& bright with terrific sustain even in crunch mode! Custom stagger pole pieces provide improved string-to-string balance. Case not included."

But.. a strat is a strat...

It would be nice for these to actually be 'new'. The cyclone was a rehash of old ideas but at least it wasnt another strat/tele/p bass/j bass. The toronado too, nothing revolutionary but at least they bothered to come up with a new shape.

I would be very surprised if Fender managed to release anything this year that haven't already done some time before 1970.

i think I'm gonna have to get a new Squier soon. I thinking it's between the HSS Modified Tele and this new Strat. Squier has just gotten so good and so awesome, while fender has kind of stalled on quality improvements and just kept raising the price. I remember when a MIA standard was $600 - and you got A LOT of guitar. Now the MIMs are practically there price wise and they still haven't made the bridge plate cover the PUP route on the tele. For a while, the only real appeal to a Squier was the fender license, now they actually make the best guitars for the money.

Actually a lot MIA and especially vintages I've seen have this. I always thought of it as a quirk of the telecaster.

Yeah, that's intentional on the reissues. you see it all the time on actual 50s specimens.
