Have you ever taken your Whammy apart? The treadle on mine is really stiff, and I've tried to loosen it. Also, the treadle sometimes clicks, and it sounds like something is catching, probably inside. I took out the screws and I can't get it open. What now?

I wouldn't have done that if I were you. They're more or less impossible yo break, which means they're more or less impossible to put back together, I'd imagine.

Did you ever get a power lead? Why are you taking it apart if you don't have a power lead?

Yeah, I hooked myself up on saturday with a nice big fat christmas tree adapter from Maplin. It all works fine and dandy, I'm just having problems with the treadle which for some reason is really tight, and for some reason it spontaneously clicks when I move it.

How much did you pay for this pedal?

£80. The clicking started like, recently, so I think it might be something I've done. I have tried hard to loosen the bolt that appears to hold on the treadle, but without a ratchet i can't really get to it properly.

i thought it was just an allen key, but i can't remember, having never had to adjust it.

I believe the manual is available for download on the digitech website. I think that mentions something about adjusting the treadle.

I gave it a read when I got it as I lacked one with the product itself. As far as I remember, it's very "anti-modification" in any way, saying you void it to fuck if you even plug in the wrong adapter. The only mention about the treadle is regarding calibrating it, i.e. defining the minimum and maximum spread on the potentiometer. For some reason mine doesn't stay in the toe down position, it slightly bounces back if you take your foot off, so I had to calibrate it carefully to stop this, otherwise I was dealing with an "almost octave up" effect, which is undesirable.
