EMG Select... any good?

I've been thinking of putting single-sized noise canceling pickups in my '76 mustang. I found these online:
EMG Select SES (link)
Anybody here ever tried these? The EMG marketing department says they're supposed to sound like 50's strat pickups but are actually double coil humbuckers, so I'm curious.
Bonus: they have built in robroe covers, and I've seen them online for about $20 a piece.
If I get them, I'm definitely sanding off the hideous white logo.

Why would you think these are better than the stock pickups in your vintage mustang?

I like the pickups, but I don't like the noise. Everything is properly shielded and grounded, etc., but I just have a low tolerance for noise. I like to crank the gain on my amp, so I prefer not to hear buzz.

This pickup is passive, so I figured it might be different than the usual active nonesense that EMG puts out.
