So I purchased a Leslie type speaker. It's actually Hammond's version, it's in a nice 22x22x19 cabinet.

I less than no idea what to do with it as far as hooking it up goes.
any clues from you guys in the know?
I know doogs a hammond fan at least.
I presume of course the two slot one is speaker wire. the six one......yikes
then again maybe the two is power
perhaps I need to give pictures from inside too
maybe someone knows befroe hand.

Alls I knows is they need loats of maintenance.

I'm guessing it needs power to spin the speaker around. You'll also need to send a signal to the speaker. So I'm guessing the 6 pin is for power maybe and the 2pin is signal.

That's what I figure too!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought perhaps when I got it it would plug in and have speaker wire.

I'm guessing the extra stuff is the organ telling it when

so I guess I just need to go back inside and see which goes to where

I'd bet someone on thegearpage.net would know. The two wire seems to be signal; the six is probably power and on/off/speed controls. In any case, some heavy conversion will be needed and probably the building of a footswitch.

my organ had the speaker sitting on top of a rotating cylinder. the speaker itself didn't rotate
but it sounded awesome when i ran my guitar amp through it. i still have
the speaker, cylinder, and motor. for whenever i decide to build a cab.

i'm hammond owner, have an L-112 with a leslie 122 cab.

to use this with my guitar i had to get a leslie interface box, which powers the leslie and controls the fast slow and brake for the leslie. lesiles have a 9 pin interface socket which plugs into the organ, which is why you'd probably need the interface box.

hope it's of use to you, the leslie is a killer sound, something that a boss rt-20 (used when i cant be arsed to lug the leslie around) just cant get right.

the nearest leslie simulation i've heard is a korg g4 and the rotary speaker on logic's EVB3.

Congrats! I love the sound - I've bought the Behringer RM600 pedal and tried the Line 6 Pod emulation - but it's not the same as The Real Thing.

He was exceptionally gregarious but unable to help. All his items are Leslie only. He knew of the speaker and rattled of a lot of stuff about it. He sure knew what he was talking about.

i starting to think your leslie might be one of the models that was built into the organ itself. hammond did have a few models that had a built in leslie underneath the main organ unit. with the connectors that you have on your leslie, that might be the case.

i shall investigate for thee.

It's labeled as Hammond, but built by Yamaha for them.
It's in a free standing nice cabinet as seen in the thumb size photo

couple of sites that have info on how to work out and rewire leslie wiring and plugs. as i was thinking, your leslie unit was designed to be intergrated into an XTP series organ or could be removed to lighten the load.
