mustang bass sighting!

it was vintage, probly early 70's
it was all black, with a maple neck, from what i could tell it was 100% stock.
the bass player from ours was using and was rocking the shit out of it!
it sounded fucking good!!!!
i wish i had taken some pics of it, i actually got to check it out a lil bit, it was sitting on a rack at the side of the stage, so i wandered over, looked it over thoroughly and even gave it a quik pluck before i realised jimmy neco was standing looking at me, i said sorry and walked away really fast.
later on he said it didn't bother him, but the bass player would have been super pissed.
i also saw the bass player for adam green playing a very unusual p-bass
check this out.
burst paint, tort guard. lacquer finish, 60's(early) style decal.
it looked so good it had to have been a re-issue
BUT!!!!
the thumb rest was in its proper place for the period, the keys were proper, and it had a strap button on the back of the headstock
now im certain its a fender burst. looks like a good pre-cbs burst, but it looked too new to be vintage.
did fender do a crazy exact replica recently?

I've been jonesing for a Mustang bass lately... if Ishibashi still shipped to North America, I would get the OTM competition version.

That's the one I'd like to get... but this guy's price seems a bit high, considering the non-comp models sell for half of that in North America. If only Fender didn't limit the colour options on the Japanese models that they import... :(

((drool)) That's the exact Mustang Bass fredo was originally gonna get for me for my bday!!! Ahhh! If I had a chance or the funds, I wouldn't mind at all having 2 Mustang basses.

I agree with the pricing though. There's not much demand for Mustang basses, price should be $700 at most in my opinion.

I think I'm in love, I've been thinking about this bass the entire day. How ridiculous does that sound? Damn... I want this
