NEW Peavey PXD Series

I just saw these in an AMS catalog today and found them interesting. Finally some new guitar shapes, even though they're for them metal whippersnappers.
They've got four different models with different options available - EMG's and the Afterburner circuit (20+ db gain boost) or Peavey pickups, floyd rose or hardtail, and you can get models with just one bridge humbucker.

i like the top one. it's like a horrid mix of mosrite, fender strat, and ibanez.
their ultimate sin is that it only comes in flat black. [and ugly headstock]

yeah, the top one is mainly why i posted these. i figured someone would like it's mosrite look.
also, how often do we get to see totally new body styles?!!! awesomz.
flat black can be cool. I like how they stuck with big ass pickguards, kinda cool.

yeah i like the shapes of them, but i would never play something with active electronics.

New body style
flat black'
huge pick guard
EMGs
I would be in awe... Until you showed me them, cause they're kinda dumb lookin'.

I think they fucked up with the headstocks. If they just kept the cool regular Peavey stock like on the t-50's or whatever, they might win something.

I agree on the headstock, its the main thing i dislike about BC Rich as well.. them stoopid widow spider headstocks.
The mosrite type is my fave.
There is a Michael Schenker vibe with the black/white bodys.
It says they use Kahler tremelos.. cool, EMG's and afterburners, i'd like to have a go on one.

The tuners are skeleton key tops! I like the SG one. It's balanced, and does what Gibson should have done, which is to try to do variations on the old tired classics.

I definitely think the HockeyStick is one of the coolest headstocks ever designed.

I quite like the Iceman type one, the bottom one.
On sayiing that, I think I'd rather just have an Iceman, though.

When youve been using Fenders for years its quite suprising how a reverse headstock can confuse you. I know its just flipped the other way and i was'nt paying a lot of attention but on the Stagemaster i was tightening the D peg for the G string and allsorts of nonsense, funny how you get into habits on auto-pilot.
I like the hockey stick headstock and it goes well with anything pointy or Strat-like. The best BC headstock is the Gibson 3 a-side imo, it balances things up a bit, them spastic horn headstocks are just beyond ridiculous.
I mean, why? Like Parker Nitefly headstocks you get the feeling its going to snap during a performance.

hardtailz [because floyd's just suck if not done wright]
emg's [melaluz]
and the gain circuit sounds pretty cool but i'd rather have a mid boost or a tone bypass, ooo that'd be neat

Its funny how people lol at EMG's, they just associate them with Metallica and stuff. Thing is they are good noiseless pickups and more mellow players like Dave Gilmour have used them for years.

I have an EMG in my P-bass... it sounds pretty fucking sweet.
