All you people doing the trades, is it mostly trading in at a guitar shop? Or with other musicians. I once did a part exchange thing when buying a guitar, but other than that I've just straight bought and sold. (I think I traded a boss pedal for a different boss pedal once, but I can't rememebr the details).

Me too, once I found out how cheap Gibson SGs actually are (er... comparitively...) I almost went for a standard, then REALLY came close to getting a '61 re-ish just before I had enough for the LP.

It's strange though, how even with pretty much the same specs the SG sounds very different from a Les Paul. You have a set neck, same wood species, same scale length and electronics, and yet the SG sounds more raw and bright. It's gotta have something to do with the body thickness, but it's still unusual how much effect that has.
Good choice, it looks like you already have another Les Paul to compliment it.
That Yellow LP was the only one I have ever seen, tho... You sold out, man!
Good choice, tho...
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

wasnt that mascis's les paul or something??? I'm shocked. I like Les Pauls way more than SGs. they just feel too odd to me. like the neck sticks out way to far, and they aren't heavy enough. If I want a thin light guitar I'll buy a fender
