La Cabronita + NAMM Fender stuff

Post by ultratwin »

No desire to bad mouth any of our forum's latinas...If there were any lurking.

I kept myself from posting about the single pickup version of it early this month when the promo pic came out, but it looks like NAMM was the intended destination for this year's chica mala suprema from Fender's Custom Shop. Somewhat hearkens back to Leo's original Pine prototype in aesthetic simplicity, sort of boring and could use some brass saddles, but somewhat hopeful that Fender will be putting 'trons in a few more sometime in the future.

The photo that got leaked late last month:

And at NAMM, thnx to a kind soul from the TDPRI:

Filtertrons are so fucking hot. Thanks for posting that. I forgot NAMM was now, should be lots of cool stuff around.

Yeah.

The sweet proper '70s Jazz Bass reissue(so sexy in black...MIM?), '65 Princeton Reverb finally out again, time again for NAMM surprises.

Sweetness. Tele body, new pg, trons, strat hardtail trem... Lookin' cool, you get to try any of these out?
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

Sadly I'm a little over 9000 miles away at the moment and won't be present, but will be there (with a handful o' Shortscalers fer sure) at Winter NAMM '09 next January. The Moollon staff is seriously thinking about Musikmesse 2009 tho, and I honestly wouldn't mind a trip to Frankfurt!

Do like Malibu - the strait acoustic version they did a couple years back was very nice.

I like that everything in that display is relic'd - It's like they're saying "HEY! Not only do we only use 50 year old designs, but EVERYTHING looks old already!"

"Strong and Bad". I like that. Filtertrons on a Tele give me hope for the future.
