just picked these up/new guitar

Post by hendrix1234 »

i finally recived this aria guitar i bought like nearly 2 months ago, i got it today and ive been up all night redoing all the wiring/new pots and resolded everything back together.
the only thing is i cant get the little black toggle switch to do anything, ive heard its a bass cut or something as its got a capacitor on it does anyone have the same guitar or some pics of the switch so i can see what im doing wrong?
Image
and the neck is a 1965 musicmaster neck, 24 inch which i have for a project, i have a jagstang body which has been routed to hell which im going to use the duo neck for
Image
do you guys think this body is salvageable and if so the best way to fill the routes?
Image
and the blue mustang/duosonic is a 1966 mustang neck and mid 60s duo body, with hotrails and a 3 way mini switch, it plays soooo nice.

Old necks play sooooo damn nice. I played a real 64 jag a few days back with wear down to the wood in some parts, and damn that neck was amazing. I bet this neck is good too.

If I may suggest something that might sound blasphemous, I would suggest you hold off for a new body. Perhaps you could another Mustang or Jaguar shape... If you sold that Jagstang body as is, you could probably fetch a decent dollar. The only reason I say this is that that Jagstang looks pretty ragged for such a nice neck, and you could get a new body in alder or ash.

You could even look for a Musicmaster body on the 'bay.

yeh thats what i was thinking, but i already have that mustang/duo and a 66 musicmaster which has a 22.5 inch neck and A width(really small), which both have the mustang body shape.

but i also have a jagstang already aswell, its just i has this body lying around so i thought if its easy enough to fix up, ill give it a go.

i could also try and get a jaguar body i suppose, but living in australia that would cost me a shite load.

You should use a transparent pg on the jagstang.

You could order a custom made Jaguar body, or buy a used/parted one from ebay. Shouldn't really cost you more than $300 even with shipping.

If I may make a suggestion, the guys at USACG are awesome. http://www.usacustomguitars.com/

Their price on an alder Jag body (unfinished) is $170+ shipping.

10 years is a long time :) i havent had it for 10 but the guy i got it from said it was a 97 or 98.

it was partially routed when i got it, but then i decided to route it out some more, and stick a 25.5 scale neck on it which required me to route behind the bridge pickup and into where the old bridge was. to move the humbucker back.
i shouldnt have done it ,i know.

but if its fixable ill give it a go

I can only presume that JS had stick-on googly eyes at some point.

I love that the mastermind behind the DDDave-stang just called another JS jacked up.
