Total cost/value of your guitar setup

Post by James »

*WARNING - Potentially scary thread*

Feel free to include basses, but leave out things like recrding gear. I set myself a budget when I decided to overhaul my setup, and kept nothing but a few pedals. I'm yet to buy the amp but I've stuck to the budget fairly well. I've gone with 'at cost' values, but you can decide to go with a 'current market value' version if you prefer.

Guitars £950
Archtop £350
Solidbody electric £500

Pedals £420
Diago board £75
Power Supply £45
T rex replica £110
Korg DT10 £40
Zoom Ultrafuzz £40
Zoom Power drive £40
Mike Booster £30
Proco rat £40

Amps £530
(not yet purchased amp) £400
Cabinet £130

Total £1,800

My target budget was £2,000, leaving enough room to buy a nice trem or ocatve pedal. I plan on selling some of the dirt pedals once I get the amp and can see which work best with my setup, so maybe both.

I'm only going to include my live guitar setup, I don't even want to think about how much I blew on misc gear altogether.

Approximate values based on how much they'd be new. I got a few deals here and there, but after losing value from trade ins and so forth, this is about right:

Jazzmaster - $1400
Custom guitar (backup) - $750
EHX Double Muff - $60
Ibanez TS808 - $170
ZVex BoR (soon) - $160
MXR Phase 90 - $80
MXR Micro Amp - $80
Boss TU-2 - $100
Twin Reverb - $800

Total
$3600

But hey. I have something to show for it. I didn't blow that money on drugs or alcohol. But I still need a car. :/

(edit: probably another $2000 with my other gear included (unused amps, pedals, my acoustic guitar, etc.)

Dude. srsly.
Money = Food, Gas, Gear.

I buy clothes like once every 3-4 years.

Basically, all the monies I've ever made has been thrown into music related shit.
