I got a free Jag-stang from the dude from filter.

Post by Billy3000 »

The singer from my band and I were in the studio finally mixing our record that we recorded last september, and we went to another studio that the newer guitar player (Mitch) from filter works at. He was in a bunch of sweet NC bands that got pretty popular nationally like Classic Case, and he and one of the other guys (Al) from some of the bands he was in own a studio in chapel hill. They had this jag-stang sitting in the corner, all beat up. I asked Al if they were gonna fix it up, and he was like "nah some dude left it here and told us he didn't want it back", so I told him I'd take it off their hands if they wanted and he said that I could have it. Mitch is out on tour with filter right now, but Al said that as long as Mitch doesn't say he wants it back that it's mine! Sweet!

It's pretty beat the fuck up. It looks like the fiesta red twin to the sonic blue one that RobOg has! It needs a bridge, a new nut, and I will most likely replace the pickguard (it's all warped in the middle and the horn on it is cracked off around the screw, and it looks like someone wiped their ass with it). I'm thinking about putting a red tort guard on there and making a roseland jag-stang.

PICS!

I forgot to mention that switch between the volume and tone knobs. I don't know what that is yet... I want to get a bridge and a nut so I can string it up and figure out what that thing does!

YAY FOR FREENESS!

Do it now.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

This thing looks pretty sweet. I'm waiting a little bit before I start pumping money into a bridge and nut and pickguard for it to make sure that Mitch doesn't want it back. But I doubt he will, the thing was sitting in a corner of the studio behind a table covered in dust, and Al said it had been there for a few years... haha!

That's pretty cool. I really want a Jag-Stang again. When I had mine I didn't know anythign about setting up guitars so I couldn't really figure out what it was I didn't like about it.
