They make some fantastic acoustics. Very Gibson-flavoured... but I don't know anything about their electric geets.
I compared the Guild I played to my Larrivee D-02 but with more oomph (but less sparkle).

well this fellow that i have done work for just got a d-35 in need of some repair(reglue the bridge n stuff)
he thinks it may be from the 60's-70's but without seeing it icannot verify this.
the serial numbering system they have is a bit confusing, as it seems that they used the same serial number system every ten years, so they're repeats all over the place.

Yeah... it's a bit difficult. I'd say when you get a hold of it to post pictures or whatever, but I'm sure you're just as resourceful as anyone else here. But off the top of my head I'd say what he's saying is correct as the D-35's of that era were and are popular (for a reason, they're great guitars) and more likely candidate than an early 80s. I doubt it's a reissue as the bridge wouldn't be an issue for a 'newish' guitar.
Sounds like a beaut tho. I'd love to see some pics once you're done with it.

well, i have not seen it yet yet. o got a call about 9 this morning, he picked it up at a garage sale for pretty cheap and was wondering if it was worth 50 bucks with the damage that it had, i told him to offer 20, he took it and now we are trying to date it.
i know he said it was finish checked like his 64 epiphone so im leaning towards the 60's but i have not seen it yet.

so we have narrowed it down to a 77-80
solid spruce top, not sure about the back n sides, but they are probly laminated.
lacquer finished, and thats about all i know besides the standard dreanought shape and the bridge needs to be glue. i guess its a really nice guitar from certain acounts. the d-35's are something of a standard for the guild acoustic stuff.
i remember playing a new guild about 8 years ago and i really liked it but i was young so i liked pretty much everything. (then i became an elitest asshole like the rest of you)

All guild's do it. They have an extra little hunck of wood in the butt of it. I'm not sure why they went out of there way to do that on all thier guitars.

I borrowed a Guild SG for about six months a long time ago. It was like Kim Thayil's model, really nice guitar with a bigsby. I believe DeArmond is a Guild spin off if i remember rightly. Their accoustics are respected more than the electrics.

I would have bought it unless it was on fire. Always in demand. Doesn't Fender whore them now?
