I am considering a Jaguar , what are you opinions of the HH configuration VS the Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special Electric Guitar pups?
Cheers

depends on if you are a trem user.

I guess it depends if you want a traditional jaguar tone or a humbucker tone.
personally I like the white classic player with humbuckers.

yeah, go for the new mim hh version. the single-coil version sounds way too much like a strat.

Its worth noting that the traditional tremelo system with TOM or not suffers with 'sympathetic harmonics' (the weird ringing sound from behind the bridge), using a humbucker makes this more audible. Using a high output humbucker can give you big problems, you have to almost constantly palm mute the area behind the bridge if you play with a disciplined style. Otherwise things sound sloppy.
Your best bet is to try them out at a store but be sure to push the gain on the amp.

Whether or not it "suffers" depends on whether you like that sound. I kind of like the subtle warble that comes from letting strings ring out on my Jazzmaster. But those pickups are pretty low output in comparison to humbuckers.
