As to not take over Mike's Pedal thread i thought i would post this here. Its a video of the noise my Chunky Cheese (which is of the Babybell variety) makes when you turn the fuzz all the way up.

(I've turned the amp up more than i normally would just so you can hear the sound better)
I thought it was normal that it did this. Is is not? What is wrong with it? And why can't i build one god damn pedal without something going wrong with it?
I works fine otherwise (though i thought this was normal so i don't know why i say "otherwise"), fuzz is class, great pedal!

Sounds like "motorboating", a sort of feedback you can get if your power isn't adequately decoupled (smoothed). Do you have a resistor in line with the power and a large smoothing capacitor after? You may need to add another smoothing cap somewhere along the power rail; sometimes they use a resistor and cap for each stage in preamps.

There are 2 22uf caps after the power output, OLC only sent me on 22uf cap so i went to maplin and the guy assured me that the one he gave me would work the same it was a 22uf one as well, maybe he was wrong?
Why would this only happen on the fuzz knob though?

Almost sounds like it's starting to self-oscillate.. can't help you though dude- Euan put mine together for me (<3), and I don't have that problem :/

No, should be OK.
Why would this only happen on the fuzz knob though?
Circuit layout, stage gain, load impedance.... Looks like you'll have to wait for Doog and Mike's experience, sorry.

Lucky you. Though i honestly i'm not that worried about it, i didn't even think it was a problem until you said it wasn't happening for you. It would be nice not to have it though.

I would check all solder joints for continuity, especially on your selector switch.

You work for OLC? Nice one, that would be class job. If you pm me his email i'll get onto him but honestly it not a huge deal, i love the pedal and i didn't think this was a problem until Doog mentioned it didn't happen on his.

I had some oscillation on my Orange Peel from cold solder joints, I'm pretty confident that's what you have. They might look ok, but there'll be one in there.

It happens in all modes but is most noticeable in the mid-boost mode so thats the one i demoed

Multimeter baby. check continuity between the solder joint and what is connected to it.

There should be no visible movement of leads/pins in the solder.

What's ground hum in the UK? In the US we call it 60 cycle hum... My guess is that something is being grounded out, but it sounds awfully high pitch for that.
