i have seen worse.
this is what you do,
get aged pearl guard material
get a single for the bridge.
two robroes
and paint the body black.
and then you have a somewhat normal mustang.

well no shit.
he didn't specify if it was just the headstock or the neck itself.
if its just on the headstock, get some 2000 grit and sand around the decal i supose.
lacquer thinner will take off the og finish(obvisously) but we can decuct that the og finish is indeed still under the black paint.

The see-through gray pickguard just adds that extra touch of hideousness...

I almost like it... But, not really... I think I jus like the paint on the body, and painted headstocks are cool.

but why is the neck pickup's angle all weird? it looks messed up. the pickups are angled to give a bassier response; that just looks strange.

you can see in that picture, that the entire neck is painted.

I would just sand it all down with 2000 grit. it'll be all smewth and sexay then.

$500 is pretty good for a '65, assuming it plays well and is structurally sound. The paint job and mods are all hideous, but with some elbow grease and a small $ investment, it could be made to shine again. Nice score!
