Landgraff clean boost

Now, I'm no expert here, but I have looked into this a little and I'm fairly certain I could build this, and it would cost me around ร‚ยฃ20-30

I know a lot of those boutique guys goop out their parts so you can't see that all you're paying for is a volume pt with a battery clip, but when it's that plainly on offer what's going on with the circuit, surely there are guys copying these and sleling them for $50-60 instead of the near $300 that is the retail on these.

Really easy build. The hardest thing is making your own circuit board...
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

That thing doesn't even have that, its a little bit of strip board.

I've been wanting to get into the building thing for ages, but started with an easy project I didn't really have much use for (feedback looper thing) and one that was too difficult for a noob with little electronics experience (way huge red llama overdrive). I did the easy one and got annoyed with the llama. I'm gonna have to buy a breadboard thing, and a start wih some simpler stuff.

Yea, dew it. Get Mike or one of them dudes to help you out...

Also, I think there's a better way to build it than that one. It looked like they soldered a wire to the case to ground it, but, if you ground the lug of the pot to it's self, then it souches the case, and thus grounds it. but, they may not want the pot grounded, for some reason.

You can do this, though, this is cake.

lmfao @ Landgraff's patented right angle wire bend Mojo.

The fact that I can do this means anyone can. If you need any advice as to what to buy and where to buy it from I'll let you know, I pretty much know everything about DIY pedals do's and dont's after the Booster run and my failing overdrive business.

It looks like a simple JFET booster - check out the Jack Orman Mini-Booter at www.muzique.com - it's the basis for probably half of the booteeke clean pedals out there.

Yes I do - I was picturing the Fetzer Valve in my head:

MOSFETs are sensitive to static and heat (and dying randomly) - a single JFET boost would be a good project.

Static Protection Diode from Source to Gate sorts that out.

Yes it does - I'm just thinking a simpler boost like the Fetzer Valve or even LPB would be better for a first build.

I also just noticed all the creepy jesus-freak-mojo inside that pedal [shiver].

James already has an LPB-1 derivative, the Saltbooster I made for him. I'm sure he could handle a MOSFET boost like a SuperHardOn or this thing. I can get you schematics if you want James?
