I've got a little Squire Standard Stratocaster thats getting some spring sound through the amp

i've got 5 springs innit, as i use .13's [holly shit manland] and its the only way to keep the bridge down

aside from putting the rubber tube shits innit is there a way to fix this problem?

You could use a trem block, than remove the springs. Personally I like the spring-y sound from strats.

Just stick some foam between the springs and the backplate. Won't interfere with tremmin' but cuts down on the ringin'.

Surely you could use 3 and just tighten up the claw?

That sound is part of the Strat. Killing it means killing the one thing that is likeable about them.

I don't like the ringing either, same on the Jazzy. If you wanna play some TIGHT ASS RIFFZ it's no good.

I left the springs in my Strat though, even though it's practically hardtailed through spring tension- it just feels better for some reason. Just that extra bit of solidityityty.
