my amp evolution (devolution for bass) is not very logical, i think with some people here they'd need like 20 pages for ex and current amps lol

My amp history (check out the convenient aproximately to scale pics)....

Squier SP10 (new)
Image

Marshall MG30 (second hand)
Image

Laney TF300 valvestate (new)

I got the squier when I started playing. The marshall maybe a year later. Sold the marshall after a few years and bought the laney. Had the laney through uni and sold it to go to Ireland. I still have the squier and it's been my only amp for the past year.
Soon to have...

64 Bassman into Torres custom 2x10 cab (second cab (wasnae born to buy it new, made the cab from a kit)

Image

Actually, now I know what amp I'm going to have, I'm off to wire that cab up.

mine is pretty simple.

i started with the 20 watt solid state gorilla amp that sounded like ASSSSS

Image

we tore off the gorilia logo and put it on nates TV set 2 years ago. we thought it would be funny if he had a gorilla TV instead of a sanyo

after that i graduated to the Performer 1000 which morphed into the COUGAR 1000.

Image

and then i have a giant 500 watt PA with 6 hi/low ins, rca in/out and two 15" cabs that my computer, and everything else i own musically is plugged or mic'd into.

i think we already did a similar thread to this prior to one of our nasty crashes. . . but i always love reminiscing about old gear, so here's my history:

my first ever amp i got at the same time i got my first guitar (wayne's world edition cij strat). both were secondhand, and the amp looked something like this:
Image

bought this model crate gx65 off of a friend to rock with my slut'o caster:
Image

finally, my first amp that nobody owned before me! marshall valvestate 8240:
Image

now i needed a half stack to keep up with the MASSIVE RAWK TONES of saturday's child. so i got a marshall valvestate vs100 head. . .
Image

. . .and a marshall 1960a 4x12 (i think this was in 1998)
Image

time for tube tones! i rocked a marshall tsl100 head through the 4x12 for nearly 8 years:
Image

for smaller sessions and just cool s0ndz, i got a fender pro jr:
Image

at some point a few years ago, i got a bug up my ass to change up my sound, so i got a fender prosonic (ended up keeping it for studio lolz)
Image

when i was doing split duty in big bear and san diego, i got a fender FM412SL cab and loaded it with celestions:
Image

and eventually put a '74 bassman 100 head on top of it
Image

the marshall jvm410h was released and has been a delight to play. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
Image

the champ blew up when jimmy put bass through it or something. the crate blew up when a former satchild guitarist borrowed it. the valvestate amps were both traded in for their successors. the jvm was purchased with funds from selling the tsl, and the prosonic was sold for needed cash last year. the bassman went to junkbox along with its custom outfitted cab.

First guitar amp = 80's Peavey that I can't find a picture of. A "Backstage?" It was small, maybe 15 watts.

Next. Music Man 210-65. Solid state preamp into a pair of EL34 tubes.

Image

Then. Fender Twin Reverb. 135 Watts, Ultralinear transformer.

Image

Then I messed with the above amp until it sounded a lot better and did some non-stock things.

Meanwhile.... I got one of these

Image

Which crapped out and then sat around, while for small-amp laffs I used a Vox Pathfinder

Image

until I learned some stuff and fixed up the Vibro Champ... which I've written far too much about already.

Bass detonation implodors:

I gigged endlessly through an old blackface Bassman + cab (borrowed), which was nasty for bass. I have to try buying it off the owner some day, for amp mirth.

Image

Then went to 300 watts of tchoob heaviness

Image

Through the only thing I could still afford after buying the above.... Sunn 410 cab.

Image

I did a thread on that cab a while ago when I was fixing one of the speakers.

Image It was borrowed.

Image Also ws borrowed, than had to give it back. Did miss the 30 WATTS OF POWA!

Image Current amp and first amp. I bought it used, much love for this amp. I may buy a cab loaded with V30's, because the bass on them is apprently epic, and my speakers lack bass response, but have upper-mids, treble in droves. I probably wont though, no love for lifting things.

Crate GX15 from the pawn shop with my first guitar, sounded like the butt hole
Image

HOLY SHIT i Forgot about this until just now,
Randall RH200 G2 got it off ebay because i was given the ampeg cab below and wanted a head
Image

into an old ampeg bass cab with a slanted downward 18 or 15 and 2 10's
then traded that for a

Crate BV412
Image

then sold the Randall and Crate to buy a

Fender Performer 1000
another pawn shop special i think i paid 200 for it.
Image

sold the Performer after i got this amp ( the performer started screwing up reallllly bad)

Sunn Concert Lead and unkown 15 in speaker cabinet, for $100 at a thrift store
Image

worked great for exactly a week then blew up, i was ampless for a while since i sold the fender.

then i saw this at a flea market for $35 i got it for $29(all the money to my name week)

1967 Alamo Fury 115 Tube Bass Combo
Image

i replaced the car audio switch screwed into the top and it works great and has been for about 2 years now, no retubing needed or anything, i love it on 10, i need a boost to make it overdrive even more, then i'm going to a/b it with my New (new to me) to me 1994 Fender "Evil Twin" Twin amp, i'm getting from my co-worker for $400 i've already given him $100
