Hard shell cases for the Fender Jaguar ???
I'm the proud owner of an Olympic White Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special HH, but I don't yet have a case for my new toy. Rule #1 around my home is: "No nice guitar will leave this house unless it's in a hard-shell case!"
I'm confused about whether there are cases made especially for the short-scale and/or offset body Fenders like Jags, Jazzmasters, and Mustangs. The Elderly website shows cases for "Jaguars/Jazzmasters" separate from "Stratocaster/Telecaster" cases, but on another site some folks were claiming that there's no difference.
Also, it seems like some Fender Jaguar cases are in short supply: Elderly is out of stock several models, with an ETA of 2-3 months before new ones come in.
What are my options for a nice case, and how much money is it gonna cost me?

OK. It looks like 2 of the 3 Fender "Jaguar / Jazzmaster" cases are back in stock @ Elderly. Both are $139. That's not cheap, but they look like nice cases, and it's not like I have a ton of options.
So now the challenge is to pick the right color combination. Which one works best with Olympic White + red/brown Tortiseshell?
Brown Tolex w/ Gold Interior

If someone tries to steal my Fender case (which would be loaded up with my Fender Jaguar), he'll find out pretty quickly that in addition to guitars, I also like collecting guns!robert(original) wrote:its probly better if its a no name case.
otherwise you will have some cokknocker wanting to steal your fender case becuz they think there is an eric johnson strat inside of it.
Pitty the poor cokknocker who tries to pinch my gear: it'll be the first *AND* last time he does it...

No, I don't.tribi9 wrote:You carry the gun around you?
I'm primarily a home jammer, so if someone tried to steal my gear, he'd have to get into my house first. In Washington state, we don't yet have a codified "Castle Doctrine" like a lot of other states, but we do have a "Stand Your Ground" clause that's almost as good. Here's what Wikipedia has to say:
"Other states expressly relieve the home's occupants of any duty to retreat or announce their intent to use deadly force before they can be legally justified in doing so to defend themselves. Clauses that state this fact are called "Stand Your Ground", "Line In The Sand" or "No Duty To Retreat" clauses, and state exactly that; the shooter has no duty or other requirement to abandon a place in which he has a right to be, or to give up ground to an assailant."
