Y'know, it's a historic thing for Gibson having the L thing in front, all the way back to the L1s of the early 1900s. Does the L6 deserve a place with the rest? You decide.
L3s got their blues on...
L4s could rock this town inside out...
L5s have a quirky classy element...
L7s are Jazz legends...
L6s are a child of the 70s. Rotary filter switch, natural wood colors, and this very happy guy...

Usually when people talk about the Gibson L5, they mean the Jazz guitar hollowbody. Not whatever that thing is.

I've been troothfully Cyphe'd and need to correct myself.
The above "Fat Pauls" are L5S models of the 70s, the so called solidbody versions of the common L5 Jazzbox.
If you like that classic jazz archtop vibe, there are several Epiphones like the Emperor and the Broadway which are really quite amazingly cheap for what they are. The Elitist models in particular are often favourably compared to equivalent Gibsons for 1/4 the price.

Sorry Icey but them Artist reissues are complete garbage. The originals are real guitars, built by real people for real guitar players. These are chucked out on the production line for numptys.
