I was watching this auction but I had no idea it would go this high.

damn 50's guitars and their prices.

I'm not entirely surprised - it's got everything that makes a U-1 rare.

Dano-branded = rare
not black or copper = very rare
cloth covered = extremely rare

Plus the usual good stuff like tone switch, case, all original, and in great shape.

I bet it smells funny.

yea but black and copper are way cooler colors. I <3 U-1s.

This one looks effin' sweet! If I wasn't putting so much into the Telecaster I would've certainly snatched this up and probably bought a Classic 50's Telecaster...
