The best thing about recording...

is that you get to use lots of cool words:
- phantom power
- pop shield
- crossfade
- cannon jack
- sidechain
All of these are very exciting words that would you wouldn't get to use normally

I've had these as part of my vocabulary for long enough that I don't really think about the cool factor of the language used. I do like when technicaly terms are used as adjectives to name something by. Binaural and Near-coincident are two I can think of.

I like using words such as Compounder, spectural analyzer and multi band compressor... even tho I very rarely actually use any of that stuff...

There's some software were you can either draw into it, or upload a picture and it makes a waveform based on it like that. A mate did one and it sounded like the old internet dial tone.

There technology for blind people that uses a camera mounted on glasses, headphones and software that does that with video frames. It allows them not to see but more to detect how close things are in a certain direction.
