Long shot.....

Post by nomorebridge »

Firstly let me say Hi to everyone, thanks for letting me in the forum.... sure its fan fucking tastic ....seems a cool plaza

now the question.... I'm a UK'er

Does anyone in the UK make reverb tanks? that sound just like Fender amp reverb (not the over priced 63 reissue)

doesn't matter if not.....I'll just get a pedal....obviously

thank you!

Afraid I don't know of anyone, and it's a little beyond my expertise. Maybe there is a kit out there? Weber might do one?

Once I saw this design drawing for a "reverb" that was basically a two speakers on either end of a coffee can that was sealed and filled with oil/water. You input on one side and take the output from the other speaker like a mic.

I've always wanted to try it out.

Should work. No good reason why it wouldn't. Might sound shite though. Worth a punt.

You know that water tank idea is quite interesting. Not to mention cheap. I wonder what kind of modulation you could get if you didnt fill the tank all the way full and moved it slowly as you played so the water swishes about gently inside. (With the whole thing on its side obviously - the water would need to touch both speakers) Probably would be a very odd thing to use on its own but combined with a dry signal it might be fun.

Good idea.

I always wondered what difference it would make (if any) if you filled a cabinet with helium, or with some sort of hella dense gas.

The spring setting on this is utterly convincing and infinately more flexible than the real thing.

It doesn't "splash" if you kick it around though.
