the active boost is kinda sexy, also the 5-way active EQ (QDD) cos it has a METALZ setting! someone buy one and stick it in, ah go on they're cheap as chips.

Artec make the Guitarfetish Modboards as well.

never heard of them before, so looked them up:

sorry but thats totally retarded - no phaser or fuzz? FFS, who wants an onboard delay or trem?!! anyway the Artec boosters are cooler cos they require no modding of the guitar - should fit nicely in your tone/volume route.

And GFS pups.

Yeah that too but we weren't talking about pickups.

There is a possibility that Artec make SD Far East pickups and some from other names too.

I had a similar thing on my Man Strat. They are limited but definitely usefull if used in the right context.

A friend of mine has a G&L strat-thing with an active boost. It made every pedal sound like complete shite.

They do work better with valve amps than into pedals. I had active EMG's and onboard Fuzz going into 2 x Big Muffs and it was like WTF?

Uhm, a lot of people I'd think- trem and delay being time-based effects, having them at your finger tips would be pretty great, spesh for delay time-tweak freakouts.

That said, I wouldn't want them at the start of my chain.

Yeah, delay at the start of your FX chain is completely unacceptable. I've never known it work that way. But saying that, these are like micro effects for subtle effect, not your standard stomper affair. I imagine working with a clean amp would give the best results.

It can work- I'm pretty certain East Bay Ray had his Echoplex/Copycat (?) before his amp gain, you can hear the repeats get less distorted as they fade out on stuff like Police Truck.

But yeah, you're somewhat limited and lose the spacious swirlings a properly-placed delay can give youse.

Them old echo units were a different beast though doog. I had a Carlsbro model the size of an amp head that consumed anything in its path, i tried the wem copycats out and they were much weaker (unless the tape had deteriorated.. i dunno). Police Truck! What a song.

Yeah, true enough- the guitarist in my 3 piece jerky punk band messes around with a WEM Copycat in practise sometimes and that thing is noisy and fuzzy as fook, even in the FX loop. Think the tape is just so worn out, it's just wooly as anything.

meh, guess it's ok for the noisemakers. but for the other 99% of guitar players, tap-tempo is a good enough solution.

just seems an odd choice of effects to intigrate - not that useful considering how much you have you cut up your axe.

I'd sooner carve up a guitar for something like a built in delay rather than some boringass FUZZ sound..

Basically he wants to Bellamy himself.

damn straight.

You have ONE famous guitarist (Bellamy) who uses integrated effects (fuzz and phaser), and they decide not to include those. odd decision - these kits oare freaking DESIGNED for Muse fanboys!

The same kind of people who'd want an onboard phaser or fuzz.
Bellamy didn't invent onboard effects, he's just one of the more famous people who uses them. I have no idea how an onboard phaser is cool and an onboard tremolo is "retarded". You'd think the more effects they offer on these things the happier people would be, but no. Bellamy never had one, why does it even exist?
