Both pickups should be dogears IMO.

I very much agree. Euro shortscalers, it's worth noting that Thomann have the single pickup melodymaker reissue (sadly only the burst) on sale for £250.

Why waste a P90 at the neck position?
Also I hate all Gibson shape guitars expect Prog's goldtop. So it can jump.

I thought Mike meant the total opposite of that? Anyhow, I loved my old Jr. - single pickup guitars are good clean spartan fun, I reckon.

I hadn't noticed the dog ears thing, but when it was pointed out I thought it was fairly poor. Now, I'm starting to warm to it, because it's kinda weird. Strange, I usually hate guitars that have purposely mismatching pickups so as to look modified.
P-90's in the Neck soud class, if the Aerodyne Tele's anything to go by.

I prefer them in Bridge positions personally, they impart more of their unique character.

I've not played one there. I tend to prefer neck pickups anyway, unless I'm playing something heavy..

I've found that working with pickup height seems to be one of the only ways to really make a neckside P90 work really well. Too close to the strings(often when there seems to be heaps of clearance and you get the booms, back off a bit and its the sweet blues.
On the other hand (although not a model case) A Gibson P-94 in the bridge of my friend's Agile LP standard is one of the best sounding Lester tones I've enjoyed as of late. Of course, Donk has reasonably cited my flamboyantly pretentious talk of pickup tones, but I feel quite justified to say it... It sounds literally pissed off and badass, whereas the cheapo original stock humbucker gave off an indecisive "gosh...Um I dunno, fellas" kind of tone.

That guitar has too much going on. Its like part Melody Maker, part LP jr, part wanna be LP special, then it has the uggo agile headstock like a cherry on top.
It's a neat idea, maybe it even sounds tits for all I know, but visually it's too much.
