HAHAHA... Someone's not kidding.

Cloned pedal kits galore...

They've got kits that come incomplete without switches, enclosures and jacks, but look at the variety! Some are more obvious of what they're copying than others.

Hhaahaha - neat@!

There are some good names there - Delay at the night, son of tube, brunch box... Love Bias II -- I think I'll call my band that.

Well Ultratwin, this is good news. GenGuitarGadgets will ship here, but with BYOC stuff, the closest real distributor was in the UK. And for me who has been putting off having a go at making a kit because it seemed lot a lot of money to find out if I can or can't be arsed with soldering -- this is a better option.
I'm guessing the quality of the components might not always be so good, but at $7.30 for a Super Erection kit, you can't go wrong.

I'm not much chop at reading the Hanguels - does it say all the parts are included in a kit?

Oh - now I actually read your post, I see it might cost a bit extra to get an erection.

You don't need a kit. Just get the schematic and build it yourself for cheaper.

The Super Erection actually seems to have a Super Extraneous Knob

I think the way it works is that you're not getting all the bits for that price. You have to pay extra for the enclosure, jacks and a few other things.

Which means it's not actually really all that good a deal, since you'll have to buy that stuff and pay shipping from an electronics webstore, you might aswell get it all and avoid paying the shipping on the kit.

I can point you to websites with schematics for those circuits.

hmm, Fuzz Factory kit.

Zvex is quite strict on enforcing copyright - this couldn't go on sale here sadly.

Oh, you can buy all the stuff from the website right there, you just have to go through the list and add each thing to the shopping cart manually -- a bit of a pain -- but for me at least the posatge would be next to nothing, compared to 15pounds to get something from the UK.

it's perf board, which means you have to make the connections with the legs of the components on the reverse. Messy and also tricky for the beginner. A PCB would be more foolproof. I use Veroboard because I'm a pro.

Troo. Just in case some are curious, here is my translation of the "required parts, etc" for the above FF clone (everything else included):

-AC128 2개 (기본 포함된 2N3906으로도 동작합니다.)
2 AC128, but will work with the included 2N3906s)

- Pedalparts B
B-sized enclosure

- 홀가공은 직접 하셔야 합니다.
Drill your own holes

- LED세트 1개
One LED set

- 노브 5개
5 knobs

- 3PDT 스위치 1개
1 3PDT switch

- DC짹 1개
1DC jack

- 1/4" 짹 한쌍 (박스타입 사용 불가)
A pair of 1/4" input jacks (not boxtype)

* 배터리 스냅 사용 불가
battery clip not an option

The AC128s set you back £7 for a matched pair for use in this (or any Fuzzface derivative) circuit.
B enclosure - £6
Drilling? only simple if you have a vice, some HSS metal bits, and some patience and skill - my bits cost me £30.
LED - pennies
5 knobs - £3 for cheapies
3PDT - £6
DC jack - £3
Jacks - £3 at least

So that's an extra £28 on top of the kit, and you also have to drill your enclosure which for some will be a non-starter.
