Mustang or Classic Player Jaguar HH?

alright, so I like my jagmaster alot, but I have always really wanted to get a Jaguar or a Mustang.
I played one of the RI mustangs, and i thought the neck was absolutely perfect....I couldn't play it with an amp at the time though.
I played one of the expensive Jaguars 1962 RI (1500$) I liked it...not as much as the mustang, but I wasn't able to play any of them with an amp.
If I get a mustang, I am going to want to have the switches to be changed to Gibson / Jagmaster style....and either change the bridge to the strat kind, or adjust-o-matic / tune-o-matic....that's only if the mustang bridge is as bad as people say....also....would it be hard to put a humbucker in the bridge?
If I get a Jaguar, I'd switch the humbuckers to DiMarzio PAF, and the DiMarzio Super Distortion, change the bridge to one of the three i mentioned above.... Maybe change the switches too.

Don't get a mustang and alter it. Just buy the Jaguar HH, it has a tom and humbuckers already there.

Welcome to the boards, fellow Montrealer!
The Mustang bridge has never given me any trouble. It needs to be set up properly, but once that's done it's a great piece of hardware. People only change them for tune-o-matics because Gibson bridges are more familiar, and people tend to be too lazy to take the 10 minutes it takes to learn about the magical goodness that is the Mustang bridge.

I favour the mustang bridge over pretty much any other design, actually.
If they weren't so particular, I'd have them installed on everything.
including the fridge!
Oh, and don't buy the mustang at Steve's. I saw a guy drop it twice.

Who ever told you that a Mustang bridge was bad hasn't been to ss.org
But, if you just like the neck and body shape, you could get something else that already has a humbucker in it. You're kinda taking the soul out of the Mustang by changing as much as you are.

Hence why I posted the Cyclone.
Anyway, the bridge is FINE. Set it up right and it's as good as the strat. I have mine pulled all the way back (as tight as it goes) and it stays in tune for DAYS, plus I can still grab the tailpiece and do little 1/4 tone dips. Even when I had mine set up normally, it stayed in tune well.
If you need HUMBUCKORZ get something like a JB jr. or mini Hotrails so you can go back to stock. I personally think the SC-sized 'buckers sound better then the full size ones anyway (more clarity it seems).

There are some Japanese-made Jaguars that come already set up with the modifications you mentioned.

yeah I was thinking of a Seymour Duncan JB....but if everyone says not to do it I won't...the only reason I wanted to change the bridge was because I heard from friends that they suck and the guitar easily gets out of tune...I found nothing wrong with it when i played it though.. Like I said the humbucker thing is just a thought, from what I understand of humbuckers they don't change the sound much, they just make it louder don't they?

the blue one?...i know when I bought my jagmaster from there I didn't notice a bunch of random chips in the paint, and when I got home I noticed them...not a big deal but it was kinda stupid that they didn't give me a chippless one....I also noticed that on fenders / squiers the paint chips alot easier than on the randoms strat look-a-likes.
Thanks to all for your imput, eventually I will probably have a jaguar and a mustang, but since I currently have a jagmaster, I'll probably go with the mustang (unless the jaguar is that much different then the jagmaster..?)
