Indeed they are. ProgRockAbuse has the 60's Classic Stratocaster which is fantastic, and I own and love the Baja Telecaster, which I can heartily recommend. A whole lot of guitar for the money.

Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the welcome

I think I may be leaning more towards the Tele, but the Strat does look pretty bitchin' and I haven't played one since I got my first guitar, an Encore Strat.

Baja tele.

Also just so you know, that purple is fucking annoying on the black theme.

Just what you prefer, the black theme doesn't resize pics so when some chump posts as 22483423 x 23423423 picture the layout gets all fucked up, but I can use fit-to-width in Opera to keep it readable.

I personally find it easier on the eyes to read white on black.

hey starbucked, welcome to the forum.

the classic series guitar are really amazing instruments. i own the classic player 60's stratocaster and would not change that for the world.

the pickups on it are fantastic hand wound custom shop pickups which don't squeal when you up the gain. the trem is amazing, you can do all your divebomb fran abuse and it'll stay in tune. the fit and finish are flawless. you can tease your mates by pointing at the custom shop logo and tell em it was custom built for you lol.

i know there's normally a lot of flack against the origin of where a guitar is made, but i think me and mike would agree that these mexician guitars are on par, if not better than the usa made stuff.

mike's baja tele is amazing, i've been waiting for my local shop to get one in, so i can get one of my own.

A bit +1 to all the above. I do like the Custom Shop Designed Neck Plate, and the pickups are fantastic. I can't fault the series - I think it's probably Fender's most consistent stuff.

is there any little niggles you have with the tele mike?

i think the only thing i have with my strat is the action is a little high, but i can sort that out.

I think the only thing is that you can see the route for the bridge pickup a little either side of the lipstick bridge, but that's it. it's a purely aesthetic thing. What did you think about the Baja action - I'm a really poor judge of action as a clunky rhythm player, since I just slap heavy strings on these things, intonate and go- Doog has commented before that he thinks I like a high action but I think it's a lack of skill or understanding on my behalf.

the baja was perfect to me, it actually felt like you had lighter strings on it to me. i think (covers strats ears), i actually like your baja slightly more than my strat.

hahaha.. bless.

I use 11's. EXL115's to be exact, what do you play?
I'm thinking of moving to 12's (EXL145s) for the Mustang.

I too can vouch 100% for the true majesticity of the Baja Tele - it's an absolutely stunning guitar to play, to hear, and to be seen with.

It has the only neck plate I've ever buffed, I'm serious.

If the others in the Classic series are on a par, I guess you're spoiled for choice. Effin' A.

i had rotosound 10's on the strat and 11's on the goldtop. because i top wrap the strings on the goldtop, they feel like 10's.

i've just stuck some 11's on the strat, mega tones!!!

Yeah I love 11's on a 25.5" scale. The Baja came with 9s. If you watch the demo I did of it I can't play it for toffee.

I totally forgot the '70's Telecasters. They both amazing too. I used to own a '72 Telecaster Deluxe which now NickD owns. It was fantastic. Unbelievably nice neck profile.

classic series and classic player series are two completely different things
