I'm pretty sure you can go up to 13s without a real issue.

I've got 11s on my 69 and it is all cool.

I am doing just this. No problems whatsoever. I'm going to try out some 12s (EXL145s I believe) at some point soon.

all you gotta do is get an exacto knive and jimmy it around a little bit.

shavings will come out. its not an exact science. it wont fuck up your guitar.

fender nuts(stock) are probly some of the best stock cut nuts out there, really,
the nut only takes up about 1/3 of the string itself(generally) making string sizes realatively easily to change out without any problem, and they catch ALOT less than than a nut that encompasses's the whole damn string.

I found 12s unbearable for lead work on my JS. I kept them on for 3 months, but it was 3 months of pain and torture and bleeding nails.

In 1 month I'd have killed them anyway.

Anything feels normal after flatwounds (usually 12+). You DON'T bend.

11s are comfy, 10s or 9s send you into WHOOSH bend mode. Which is actually sorta cool.

I think Aen is a GHS baratone string man. I love D'addario, GHS is good stuff, the strings tend to rot faster though.

D'addarios seem to last longer than most strings out there. They sound good, but my favs are Ernie Ball Slinkies.

I disagree. I am used to 11s on my Telecaster, why shouldn't I up from 11's to 12's on my Mustang to attain the same tension I'm used to?
