They've announced a new line with more Amp models, more Effects, more Preset Memory Space and a more Flexible 5 way footswitch, they look great.

Yeah, the metal grill is complete balls. The white chickenheads is a nice touch. but they really need to do them with the classic Vox Cloth. Some guys have recovered theirs and they look WAY better.

The gold/brass grill actually is a huge improvement, though if someone'd have said that I'd have thought it'd look worse. But cloth grill ftw.

You mean in that picture I just posted, I think that's just the reflection in the silver.

If they lowered the noise floor I'm all over that.

I've tried these things like 5 times in GUITAR CENTERs all over the place and I have never found a good sound. But, I know i'll try them again for the new models. lol.

There's a built in noise gate. I never found my AD50VT noisy at all.

not guitar noise - on the Vox models there's a constant whooshing and hissing noise. It comes from the valvereactor system I think since it's not there if you use the line out.

Not in my experience there wasn't. I recorded with it and I played it at all volumes, quite as a mouse and at maximum volume with the band.

No noise.

Very quick to associate it with the Valvetronix, it could have been anything else in your setup, signal chain, or situation.

It's certainly from the amp - made the same noise in every situation with every guitar/cable/effect/venue and only on the Vox models. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great amp and I'm sure if I stuck a halfway decent tube in there it would quiet up a bit. I just found it slightly annoying and I've since got 2 other amps to play with it's sunk on the priorities list.

Isn't the tube in the poweramp anyways, for sag? I doubt much noise would be coming from there.

Yeah.

Saying "it's the reactor stage" just smacks of pointing your finger at something you don't understand.

For me as an guitarist on budget, I just love this amp series, I have the good ol' Valvetronix series with my AD50VT, and it makes a lot of sounds.
I only use the built in reverb thou', but yes.

Would like an real tube amp, but for now this is fine.
and would like to get the vox cloth to cover my silverish one.
