How come Guitar Center doesn't have any of the new Squiers? The ones near me don't have anything except for Bullets and Affinitys.

...From what I've seen, new Fender models take about 5 years to trickle down to GC, which is approximately twice the life span of anything cool that Squier has made, ever. Or they'll have like, one of them. And never reorder it once it's sold.
With those axes I think most are relegated to having MF as the only avenue through which one can experience them, sadly...

i agree that is the old paradigm, but i've noticed that FUCKTARD center has been carrying more and more of the newer fenders of late. they got the mexi jazzies and jags and 65ri stangs in pretty much right after they debuted. it's still FUCKTARD center, though, so i understand anybody's reluctance to check this out for themselves.

Haha. They're too far away for me to want to check regularly (though I hear they're opening a "flagship store" in Moreno Valley or something...
Actually... The guitar department at my local Best Buy has nearly as much quality stuff as a GC

Tele Deluxes, Mascis JMs...
...But none of the strings/picks I use (big and small, respectively).

Haha that second hand bass, with the wrong knobs, and different jack that they were trying to sell for the same price as the brand new one of the same that was hanging right next to it was hilarious.

yea when jon came to visit i took him in there just to show him how shitty it was compared to Jackson Music Centre on grand island.
they had two idential fender basses next to each other on the wall. same price.
one had a rusty jack and different knobs.
i wish i could call some one and get them in there on fraud charges to shut those fuckers down.

GC are a massive corporate retail chain operation. I think right now the musical instrument-playing community, at least the one that focuses on rock-type music, is really into gear that looks custom, but isn't. GC is mostly squier vintage modified teles and Epi LP "Ultras" these days, the bass room is squier P-bass variations EVERYWHERE, the drum department is obsessed with Gretsch and PDP kits that rock the 22x20" bass, etc...
Small class A amps and ready-made pedalboards under the counter.
If you're not a metalhead or a Gibson maniac, you're kinda fucked for choice in there.
"Hows aboot a tele, sir? These two are different; this one is black, whereas the other one is... (checks around with the other clerks and goes on the computer for 20 minutes) white."

you have never been in buffalo guitar center. there are 40 SG's and about 50 red, black, or white strats and thats it.
it is FUCKING gay

i love it when people at gc say something like.
"this strat plays better than that strat"
i want to scream at them and be like
"they can play the exact fucking same if your guitar tech knew how to do something more than change strings!!!

yea, that's because those dudes have the $$$. metalheads by shitloads of gear so they're a profitable market, and gibson maniacs are prepared to spend mad dough so, again, they are a profitable market. everyone else they could really care less about. I just go in there to try to stuff out, so then I can go get it online.

I've never been to a guitar center. I don't think we have them in Canada. I take it that they're the Burger King of musical instrument stores?
