Help me design a decal

Post by Hurb »

I need a decal for my Faux XII. but I am crap.
I think What I want is Sayer Faux XII as the decal I thought about Sayer Custom XII too
It doesn't need to be fender style although its got to fit on a large fender jaguar headstock. that will be painted FIESTA red. I am printing my own decal so I cant have any white on there.

Well, someone has to have a serious attempt I suppose. I don't think it's possible to design your own decal without it looking like every other attempt to design your own decal.

Thanks allot for that malik, the effort is much appreciated. The second one is my favourite I wonder what it would look like if the fauxII sort of went round the edge a bit? and colour inside of the Sayer? hmmm I wish I was better with photo shoop and I would just do it myself.

I was thinking of course, but it's difficult to think of a shade that'd work with red, other than white. I'll try to make those modifications.

This one is awesome!

In same font as the faux xii could you put custom after the sayer. and the faux xii in the curve of the headstock? no what I mean?

Also try it just straight across if you dont mind dude!

So it says "SAYER custom" instead of "SAYER faux xii" as it is now? And then FAUX II where the synchronised trem logo normally goes?

i did have a think about this, but i didn't have time to pull something together before now. but basically, it would have been similar in theory to malik's- a script font for the 'sayer' bit, sans serif for the rest, much like a fender decal. i think if you tried anything else it would look weird.

i do think that script font is a tiny bit 'lord of the rings' though, but that's just my taste. i ain't criticisin'...

That is the best one I think. could you straighten the letters out a little dude on the custom faux xii bit? I think its only the x that is a bit wonky actually. also without sounding like a pain could the black outline on the sayer be a little thicker?

this is awesome of you!

I'll see what I can do. I'm using Paint Shop Pro 7, which is a little shit, but I have my way with it. Give me a sec.

It is a little I guess, if the s stayed the same and ayer was a little less swirly I think it would be better. but I don't know if thats possible.

have a look on this site- http://www.1001freefonts.com/

you could maybe find 2 or 3 different things you like, and get malik to paste them up. for example-

i am also aware that i'm being a bit of an interfering cunt here too!
