They shouldn't let me have a credit card:
1957 Danelectro U1. Jet black, perfect shape, tone switch. Every element PERFECT. The most desirable features possible in every dimension - and it will be mine. I can't believe I actually hit "Buy it Now". My heart is going crazy.
This will be the most expensive guitar I've ever bought.
I can't believe what I just did

Wow!That's a beauty. How much?It reminds me of the one John Fogerty used to have(but his was a Silvertone and I think he painted it black).DuoSonicBoy wrote:They shouldn't let me have a credit card:

$800 - a pretty good price. I used to oogle these on www.vintagesilvertones.com where they'd be marked at $1600 or something like that. I'm almost maxing out my credit card to get it, but it will be so worth it. It's my favorite guitar design and the reissue I have now never fails to inspire me whenever I play it.
The second most expensive was a Ric 330 for $700 about 8 years ago followed by a $450 Mustang 2 years ago. I'm kinda cheap.

This will make 2 U1s and a 1448 - wish it was 3 . When I finally get around to taking a guitar making class I'm probably going to make a slightly tweaked U1 or a Mustang shaped version with U1 wiring. The single lipstick is such a great sound; it's so responsive I don't miss a bridge PUP. What I love about the U1 is that at a certain point it seems to disappear in my hands like I'm playing air. Out of 40-50 guitars I've had, the only other one that's done that is my Mustang.Ninja Mike 808 wrote:DOPE!
You have like 3 now, right?
