Bass amp help request.

I've got a bass amp where although the signal comes though, there is a LOUD hum going on. Theres some sort of voltage problem as something smells like its burning up.
I opened it up and found most of the trouble coming from the pre-amp stage. The resistors get SCORCHING hot in seconds (where I shut it off after about 3-5 seconds). I want to know if I'm looking in the right area by thinking I've maybe got some blown voltage regulators as they're in the closest proximity where the power is surging. Again, despite all this, the signal still bleeds though, but I'm not about to get this thing going longer than 15 seconds.
Basically, does anybody have any advice/experience to help a bruva out? Its a solid state Hartke.
