I don't have my '65 Mustang Reissue yet...but I'm already dreaming about the mods I wanna make to it (once I buy one!).
Here's what I want to do:
1) replace the bridge single coil pup with a Dimarzio Super Distortion humbucker with a straight route. Warmouth sells Mustang pickguards in this configuration, so I figure they probably know the correct location for the bridge pickup route in the body.
2) replace one of the stock pots with a push/pull pot so I can use the Dimarzio as a single coil. Dunno if this should be the volume or tone pot, and I dunno whether I need to get a 250K or a 500K pot for this. Down = HB, Up = single coil.
3) I'd kinda like to keep the phase switches "as is". So they would work as they always have if the humbucker has been split.
I'm handy enough with shop tools and a soldering iron, but I haven't got a clue about how to wire up all of this. Any help would be appreciated.
