I want to buy a tremolo, boss tr-2 or electro harmonix pulsar, what's your opinion? other options?

the boss one is UTTER SHIT in my humble opinion.

Despite the huge case I dig the EHX pulsar(though not my favorite tremolo), and it's nice how it adds a bit of "shimmer" when engaged as well.

The Boss TR-2's volume drop does indeed point it in the fecal direction as Stewart indicated. After a year of use I found it not bad in function and general sine/square wave control, but I doubt any of us would like an anti-boost built into anything we pay money to step on.

i'd recommend the berignher tr-2 copy over the actual tr-2. it sounds a little better. the good old dano tuna melt rocks too.

if you have got the brass, mike's trem pedal is pretty shizzley

my folks are going to the US in to weeks, and with the dollar price, i can get a tremolo for less then 40 euros. I suppose mike's trem is pricier...

They run about $35-40 here, sound great, and are super durable. All the same stuff the BOSS and EH due but with true bypass.

Great choice, I forgot that.

The Dano Tunamelt is also fantastic.

I really like the TR-2, the vol drop is easy to fix its just a question of swapping out a resistor. I did mine it cost about 18pence.
The Dano looks a good cheaper option.

That's not really the point.

If you spend £60 on a pedal from a mass producer, you shouldn't have to modify it to make it even passable.

True, I picked mine up second hand for £20 not knowing the vol issues.
It does make you wonder why the can't make it without the vol drop, not as if its going to be a major change in production. In reality they should not have put it out on the market without addressing it.

The Pulsar is good if you want odd sounds too, it's super flexible. Worst thing is that the depth control is at it's most DEEP at like 2 o'clock- beyond that, it starts doing this reverse trem thing that is hard to explain. Kinda makes a weird little rhythm, rather than the usual up/down/up/down.

While that is cool, it makes dialling in a straight super deep triangle wave or ON/OFF square wave sound a bit tricky. I've marked the position on my pedal, but the dial is still wayyyyy touchy.

The rate goes beyond trem, and starts getting ring moddy, which is cool beans. It doesn't get lost in the mix like some, but it doesn't have a massive, annoying OTT boost like the Marshall Vibratrem.

Fairly indepth vid demo there, but just soundz, no talky.

Basically, it does classic tremolo sounds, but if you want them only, go for something else. If the new Danelectro is modeled on the Tuna Melt, I'd go for that, it's awesome, simple and very nice sounding.

Another vote for the Tuna Melt from me: I'm a big trem fan, and it took the combined might of me buying Mickie's Chopper and a Vibrochamp for me to get rid of mine, and even then I wanted to keep it (gave it to my littlest brother instead). It's an ace trem.

Tuna Melt definitely - great sounds and more robust than I expected.
