i just picked up a 1978 fender vibro champ in awesome condition. it was already modded with a 3 prong power plug and an upgraded 8" jensen speaker. so i dont even have to do any mods to it! its cleans are amazing for a small 8" speaker and when cranked the crunch is just perfect, it still has clarity in the notes but still very punchy. its pretty loud for a 6 watt amp. ill post some pics and maybe some sounds clips with my mustang when i get the chance too.

See one, play one, as we say in Cribbage:

Mine's a '78 too, funnily enough. Have put a Weber in it and replaced the electrolytic caps, I love it to bits. Also, and weirdly, considering it's only got an 8" speaker, my baritone sounds amazing through it.

Not to de-rail too much here, but are you any good at crib? I definitely need to improve before I start back at the ice cream job.

I'm assuming this is an impossible score?

Spot on. And Zaphod, don't deny the power of crib.
