So I think I've found a Refinished Vintage Mustang ('65 I believe), but the trem plate, trem arm, and control plate are black (factory black according to the seller).
Does that sound correct? This is the first time I've seen black pieces.....

I haven't either, but I'm trying to find anything on the possibility.
It also has a "B" neck....does this refer to the shape (Like a "C" or "V" shaped neck)?

the a and b represent the width of the nut.
"A" width - 1.5", "B" width - 1 5/8"

ya totally looks like the plates arent stock and the knobs have been changed. also the pickups have been either changed or the covers have been taken off, and the pickup switches arent stock.

The seller mentioned the pickups weren't stock and the switches (but he's putting the switches back in).
Guessing it's a decent deal....is there a way to date the body?

Sounds like a decent deal. Those parts you mentioned aren't too expensive.

There's absolutely no such thing as factory black on mustang parts.
As mentioned, A and B refer to the width of the neck at the nut. B is standard, A is narrow
To me it looks like only the trem plate (not the bridge or tailpiece) and the control plate have been painted or sprayed black. You might be able to get it off with some paint stripper, or if that doesn't work careful sanding.
$575 is cheap. You could put another $100 into it for paint stripper and refinishing supplies and end up with a sexy '65 mustang with hardcase for around $700. Can't complain at that.

I'd say go for it.

Right on, the black doesn't bother me too much but I would be oppost to putting a little into it as well.
Thanks for the info...
