Tele custom II project OH MYFUCK

Post by aen »

So tonight I realized that if I had to solder up one more 3pdt stomp switch I would throw up and die, so I got to a couple things I had meaning to do.

1) NO TONE on the neck pickup of my tele custom II
2) Oh, shit, theres a big hole int he guard, I should put the output jack there!
3) OH, shit, that jack looks like it's made of a paperclip an a baseball card. lets put a Switchcraft Knockoff in there.
4) Hmm, lets crank on that truss rod in the Aug neck, and see if maybe it will work after all.

And everything went well! no mystery fret out. but, heh, I ony have one string on it ATM. I had one .54, like, 2 .18s and 2346457645 .22 plains. Man, fuck those strings.

Man I ordered some Zakk Wilde Boomers 11-70 for my Tele. Shit is a 5-7 day wait. I wanted them today.

Ahh, a reoccurring theme.

They cost $8.00 a pack here but I said what the heck and gave a set a go simply for the joys of heavy tension on the low end of the the 7-string LP, with the fatass low string sitting quite nicely on the wedge-cut 7th string nut. Waaay too much fun, I've got it down to A-E-A-D-G-B-E and am rocking my own world hours on end with little intonation issues to speak of.

I'm hoping the 5-7 days actually means they can get them. Otherwise I'm buying 10 packs from the US. I better like those strings.

I wonder if it's because of the departure of Zak from ghs?

his new sig. set from somebody else sucks, its only like a 62 or something on the bottom. My local shop said that GHS will continue making the 70-11 set, just wihout zakk wylldes name on them.

Yeah turns out 5-7 days meant they were in stock. I got them and they are on my Tele now. No Zakk Wylde on them at all, they are just called Heavy Weight Boomers now.

Do like.

I've just read your post saying you do. If you get bored of them before you get through 10 packs let me know.

SHIT DUDES

Giant 70s headstocks make for better tonez! i picked up strings today. The aug neck has an uneven fret, thats the only explanation, but a bit of sanding should set it right.
.

I also got my bass cab today bonarrz! I might ge to try it out in a couple weeks!

Only on the middle 2 strings. I imagine it might happen on the highest strings as well, but I dont use those on The Beast. I will probably jus leave it until you can give me yor professional opinion.

I did manage to fix the intonation though, it had a lot to do with the strings height, which was really high for the new neck.

Christ on crutches. You want to know why this neck is fucked up?

FIVE OR SIX OF THE FRETS AREN'T PUSHED INTO THE NECK ALL THE WAY. Yeah, I guess I'm looking for a rubber mallet or something.

NO, NO RUBBER MALLET!
got a clamp?
any soft metal or wood?
shoot some super glue in the sides(don't hit any of the lacquer with it, it will tear off)
and essentially glue in the frets and clamp them tight.
thats probly the best "homade" method until i can get up there with my fret press.

Really? I've tried glue and all it did was make it harder for frets to go in on a neck I worked on. I've seen rubber mallets work, though.

James I didn't actually order a multipack. I got a single pack from Holiday Music to see what they were like.

Thats the link to the 12 set eBay auction.

I'm liking these strings. I'm liking heavier and heavier strings more these days. I might end up a bassist at this rate.

with the maple being finished i didn;t want him to crack any of it.
type 3 super glue or slow setting epoxy!
alot of companies use a variation of either one, thats why with some refrets its wise to heat up the frets first, and then start the tedious proccess of pulling them out.
