Fender Musicmaster / Duosonic Frankenstein Guitar

I know that it's a shame that he destroyed a vintage guitar to do it, but I really don't care about vintage correct mojo and I like the look of the glossy neck, 70's pickguard, two pickups, and hardtail. I've been thinking that something like this would make a cool project, but I have absolutely no experience, and routing seems like a risky move for someone who hasn't done it before.

I am going to ask him what scale it is (I'd prefer a 24") and try to get some more pictures from under the pickguard. I think that this could be really cool if I replaced the pups with some single coils (though I will certainly try out the ones that are already in there). For now, I call dibs on it.

EDIT: Thanks for the fix, James.

Drop the part '&_trksid=p2759.l1259' at the end of the auction link and your url code will work.

I think that's a pretty good deal.

Original
Body (refin)
Neck (refin, new decal)
Bridge
Tuners

Non-original
Electronics
pickguard

It has to be worth at least $300 or so, even if you have to tidy up the wiring a little or do some other small fixes.

Also with these guitars the serial number is on a sticker on the back of the scratchplate so if it's original to the guitar you'd still have the serial # despite the headstock refin. It could be a very cool little purchase. I hope you snag it. :D

Yeah, I'll be watching this one very closely. I would have no problem fixing the wiring. I just hope that this guy actually knows how to do routing.

To be honest, what does it matter if he doesnt? It's under the pickguard anyway. Your mojo arrows will not escape.
