It's nice. I like the zebra humbuckers and the witch hats. Not really keen on gold hardware though.

*shakes head*

Actually I don't mind the LP shape, just not on LPs. My artcore is about the same size and shape and it sounds chunky as fuck. I have it tuned to B and you can get some full on sunn O))) sounds with the mudhoney.

Not impressed.
I had to use LP's in the Pistols and i've never liked them. Its quite expensive, you will achieve the same look and sound with a second hand Burny or maybe look at stuff like Zaphod suggested like Ibanez Artcore. ESP also do a spiffing lightweight black les paul that will no doubt sound mean and dark at a fraction of the cost.

I loved my old Edwards (a LP Jr) to bits - that and the Tokai SG I had were the absolute business. I like the Edwards LP goldtop with P90s the best.

If I was to get a Les Paul type guitar it would probably be a black Custom style. I do feel they only really work with gold hardware as well.

funnily enough, I've been GASing for a LP Custom recently, due to the Manics affiliation. White would be too obvious so I decided to try a cheap Epiphone Black Beauty on ebay, but then I discovered the limited edition Silverburst model. Damn it's sexy!

i totally agree gold hardware looks best with black lp's, don't like it much on other guitars.
not seriously considering an edwards right now though, no money, besides there's nowhere i can try them out (i don't mind heavy guitars, as long as the neck plays smooth and the sound isn't boxed in crap :) ) i started out on an epi les paul that was very heavy.

yea, if you're gonna get a LP I would seriously go for like a tokai or greco if not something like a burny, or aria.

these days I've been looking for some kind of cheap gold top LP. I wanted to get this one

i must admit, i'm a fan of black les paul customs. i'd mainly got mine after seeing andy partridge from XTC using one and steve hackett.
i use it for heavier stuff that the strat doesn't handle so well.

Yes. There is quite a few of them companies.. orville, burny, edwards...

Thing is, i dont want to sound like a wanker here but... they are players guitars with the price tag to match. No disrespect to Kim or her skill but she would be more than happy with the quality of cheaper models like Artcores for instance and be in pocket at the end of it. Jesus, if she can rock a 70's 'Top Twenty' then an Artcore will feel like a PRS custom shop!

If they had done the burst like an actual silverburst Les Paul i'd like it a hell of a lot more. It looks so much better than what they've done there.
